Sporta Japan Appoints Evelyn Mawuli as Ambassador for Women’s Basketball International Development Project “PROJECT GLP ~Japan Got Next~”

Sporta Japan Corporation today announced the appointment of Evelyn Mawuli as an official ambassador for its women’s basketball international development initiative, PROJECT GLP ~Japan Got Next~.

Mawuli has competed at the highest levels of basketball both domestically and internationally and has been actively engaged in youth development and next-generation athlete support. She strongly resonates with the mission of PROJECT GLP-to create opportunities for young athletes to experience global standards from an developmental stage-and has joined the project to support its vision.

“My conversation with Evelyn Mawuli in New York three years ago became the foundation for envisioning this project.

She shared that although she once aspired to compete in the NCAA, she lacked the connections, information, and even the knowledge of how to pursue that path. While scholarship programs existed for male athletes, there were virtually no comparable opportunities for women, which ultimately forced her to abandon that dream.

That conversation became a major catalyst for launching this project. I am truly excited to work alongside Evelyn to help transform the dreams of the next generation into reality through PROJECT GLP.”
