coaching within Japanese women’s basketball.

Asami Morita, Head Coach - Women's Basketball Westminster University

“I believe this project creates a meaningful platform to support young athletes who are preparing to challenge themselves overseas, drawing on my coaching experience in American collegiate basketball. Pursuing opportunities at U.S. universities requires careful preparation, including consideration of language, cultural differences, and environment. It is not simply about going abroad or attending an American university, but about finding the right environment for long-term growth. I hope to contribute to this project in a way that helps players discover the best opportunities for their development.”

Yusuke Katoku, CEO of Sporta Japan Corporation

“Asami Morita is truly a pioneer in overseas coaching within Japanese women’s basketball.

Coach Morita’s long-standing experience in recruiting, player development, and character

building at the NCAA level is something I deeply respect, especially as someone who continues to pursue challenges overseas myself.

We are honored to welcome her as Supervisor of PROJECT GLP. Her experience as a

decision-maker in NCAA recruiting will provide invaluable insight into identifying players who can succeed internationally and offering concrete guidance toward NCAA pathways.”

Through Coach Morita’s leadership and expertise, Sporta Japan Corporation will continue

advancing the global development of Japanese women’s basketball through PROJECT GLP.
